Abstract:

Elevation Contours. This layer is a set of vector lines delineating global land elevation contours at 1:1,000,000 scale. It was produced by generating contour lines from a global mosaic of the SRTM30 Global 30 Arc-Second Digital Elevation Model. Vertical elevation contour interval is 305 meters (approx. 1,000 feet).

Purpose:

To provide users with a set of essential basemap features for use as a stand-alone map or putting other tabular or geospatial data in a larger spatial context.
