Go Spatial has now made several coverages of vector and raster data products for Madagascar available for purchase and download. All vector products are supplied in ESRI ShapeFile format. Raster products are supplied in BIL or .jpeg formats.
There are a total of seven packages available. Click on a package name below for more information.
The Vector Base Map package contains a comprehensive set of data layers that can be used to create a cultural map of Madagascar at 1:1,000,000 scale. The data are distributed as ESRI Shapefiles suitable for many types of GIS analysis and make an excellent base map for users to overlay their own data.

Go Spatial's Madagascar Geology map was digitized from the Madagascar Geological Services' Geological map compiled in 1964 by Henri Besairie. This is a rare map and Go Spatial Limited has made this map available in Vector format for the first time.

The 1:500,000 Scale Geology of Madagascar is an extremely detailed digital, geological, spatial database of Madagascar. 1:500,000 Scale Geology of Madagascar Contains:
Mineral Occurence Database contains the point locations of over 6,000 mineral occurrences in Madagascar. It was digitized from a series of maps compiled by Henri Bessaire in 1957. It is quite rare and most people are not aware of its existence. It is a line drawing on 11 map sheets, at 1:500,000 scale, depicting mineral occurrences, mines and mineralized areas, such as pegmatites, etc.

The Digital Elevation Model of Madagascar is now available. It has a 90 meter per pixel resolution. The data were taken from the NASA Shuttle Radar Topography mission. We mosaiced over 80 raster DEM tiles into a single DEM of the entire island. Voids in the original data were filled in using interpolation. It is the highest resolution DEM of Madagascar available.
The PDF (Portable Document Format) Geology and Minerals of Madagascar is a beautiful map of high cartographic quality. The many themes on the map were taken from the Madagascar Geology products available on this page. Below is a partial list of map themes:
This is a large, poster-style map 95cm wide by 175cm high at 1:1,000,000 scale. It can be displayed or printed on any computer capable of running Adobe Acrobat Reader (Version 6.0 or higher). Printed version available on request.
