EarthBase V 1.0 - Vector GIS with Style

We are happy to announce the completion of EarthBase version 1.0, a global database of spatial
data, annotation and associated cartographic styles and symbols. An exciting line of EarthBase derived products
are scheduled for release in 2006.

EarthBase main features include:
- 48 map themes at 1:1,000,000 scale
- Over 7 million geographic features
- Extensive map annotation layers (water, physical features, etc.)
- Globally consistent colors, symbols and styles

EarthBase data bundles are available now for all countries and regions of the world. Each bundle contains one
or more countries and include project files for ArcView 3.x and instructions for MapInfo and ArMap 9.x users. Annotation data
and fully annotated project files also available.

True Color Satellite Images

Our True Color Satellite imagery is taken from the Blue Marble Image produced by NASA's
Visible Earth project. It is a stunning true-color, cloud- free image of the
entire earth at a resolution of 500 meters/pixel.
These images make a great overlay addition to our EarthBase Vector GIS.
Download the free GIS data viewer from this site and get up and running today! These images are
supplied in JPEG (.jpg) format together with world files for easy
georeferencing.
There are a total of 51 images to choose from, each covers the same geographic area of the corresponding
EarthBase Vector GIS package and are precisely registered for overlay with our vector GIS products.

Shaded Relief Images

We have re-created all of our shaded relief images using the latest DEM based on the Shuttle Radar
Topography Mission data. Even more relief and subtle detail than the previous version.
These Shaded Relief Images were created in-house using specialized
software. The pixel resolution of the Shaded Relief Image is 500 meters, and the
dimensions match both the true color satellite image and the Digital Elevation Model (DEM).
There are a total of 51 images to choose from, each covers the same geographic area of the corresponding
EarthBase Vector GIS package and are precisely registered for overlay with our vector GIS products.

We have re-created all of our Digital Eleveation Models using the latest Shuttle Radar
Topography Mission data. Even more detail than the previous version.
Purchase a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) layer and a matching True Color
Satellite Image or Shaded Relief Image layer and render them in 3d! Visit our

layers.
